This brilliant video shows the problems about being dependent on imports of food. It's part of the Canadian campaign Eat Real Eat Local (by Unilever) but the subject is universal. As always, developing countries suffer most from the enormous costs of food imports. But, for example, even the EU will be dependent on imports of grains and oilseeds by 2015. By then, the EU will no longer be a net exporter but a net importer of wheat. We're all in the same boat as the Canadians.
The video is crystal clear and super creative. One of the viewers left the following remark: "What a great job! I am in California and it made me want to buy Canadian".
